Project Overview
Nampundwe is a copper-bearing project in the Chief Shakumbila area of Shibuyunji District, Lusaka Province, Zambia, being advanced through phased geological, technical and development work. The project is located approximately 45 km from Lusaka.
The wider area has a history of geological investigation dating back to the late 1960s. Historical work by Nchanga Consolidated Copper Mines Limited (NCCM) investigated copper and sulphide mineralisation in the area.
Jimbe's current approach is to advance the project through further geological, technical, regulatory and development work before determining the appropriate mining and processing sequence.
Geological Setting
Historical geological descriptions include folded carbonate rocks of the Cheta Formation and sulphide mineralisation including pyrite, chalcopyrite and pyrrhotite, together with areas of oxidised copper mineralisation.
